About UsFrequently Asked Questions | |
Answer: Our holidays include private transfers on arrival and on departure – instantly removing the anxiety that many experience when arriving in an unfamiliar destination. No taxis, no fare negotiation – just a warm welcome and a smooth journey to your chosen hotel. Certain holidays to rural destinations include hire car. Answer: Yes. You may choose to visit two or more destinations in one holiday. Fly into one airport and back from another – why not include a mixture of air travel with rail? Our experienced tailor-made department can help you to get the most out of your holiday. We thoroughly recommend longer itineraries combining a few days in a city followed by 3 or 4 nights relaxing
in one of our countryside, lakeside or coastal properties. We take immense pride in creating carefully crafted holidays, and although we are not necessarily the cheapest, we do aim to offer exceptional overall value for money and rely on our clients for repeat business and recommendations for our future success. Answer: We are proud of our knowledge of the destinations we feature and have prepared some useful Guide Notes giving invaluable information on restaurants, bars, museums, shopping, markets and sightseeing. The Kirker Guide Notes will be sent to you with your travel documentation – please do ask us if you would like a personal restaurant recommendation, our Kirker Concierge would be delighted to book a table on your behalf. Answer: The Kirker Concierge is able to book tickets for your chosen performance, or provide information on performances in any Kirker destination. Opera tickets are particularly popular in Verona, Venice, Milan, Naples, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Barcelona and Paris. All prices include a local ticket agency handling fee and so will not reflect the face value of your ticket. We charge you the price we pay plus £10 per ticket. Answer: Whenever you arrive in a new destination for the first time, we recommend a short private walking tour or a tour with a private car if appropriate. Why not ask us to pre-book one of our local guides to meet you in your hotel foyer on your first morning for a two or three hour private excursion? Answer: If you are taking a group away, whether for business or pleasure, conference or meeting, or if you would like us to plan an incentive reward programme for your staff, we would be delighted to help. Telephone Enrique Novella on 020 7593 2288 or email enrique.novella@kirkerholidays.com. Answer: Yes, we always try to book flights from your local airport, and, although we recommend flights with scheduled airlines, we can also book seats with ‘no frills’ carriers if you wish. However, before confirming a ‘no frills’ flight, we would always check our latest special offers with a scheduled carrier as their prices are now very competitive and they tend to offer a higher level of service and a more reliable timetable. Answer: We would be happy to book all other aspects of your holiday, e.g. transfers and hotel accommodation. Prices are quoted immediately and include: breakfast, tax and service at the hotel, plus transfers and Kirker extras such as Uffizi gallery tickets (Florence) or Doge’s Palace tickets (Venice). Answer: Yes. We are aware of the long term consequences of flying and wish to take positive steps to help reduce the environmental impact of carbon emissions. We have teamed up with the Carbon Consultancy who offer you a way of mitigating the effect of the emissions created by your journey. If you wish to learn more about carbon emissions and action that you can take, please look at the weblink www.thecarbonconsultancy.co.uk/kirker which includes a carbon calculator to learn how many kilometres you will cover and the number of tonnes of carbon dioxide that will be produced during the flight. Buying trees through the Carbon Consultancy is an efficient, simple and long term way of countering the adverse effects of carbon emissions. This is an entirely optional scheme and we do not include this in the cost of your holiday. | ![]() What to do in an emergencyAll Kirker customers have access to an emergency telephone number which is manned 24 hours a day by a Kirker Manager.
