Helsinki Christmas Market Holidays

 

Held in the city centre Esplanaadi Park, the St. Thomas Market is the largest of a number of Christmas Markets running over the festive period. From 2 December until 22 December traditional delicacies such as salted raw salmon are in abundance. Home-made food, gifts and decorations are available on the stalls and there is even an indoor market in the Old Student Hall.

Finland’s most opulent hotel and perfectly located on the Esplanade just five minutes’ walk from the harbour. There are 179 classically furnished bedrooms all with marble bathrooms. Its restaurant was established in 1887 and has a beautifully restored interior with a more informal bistro style atmosphere. Hotel supplement (Mon - Thurs): £76 per room per night.

Built in 1917 and now, after a recent renovation, features a blend of modern and early 20th Century architecture. It is centrally located near the main shopping street, with a brasserie style restaurant and the atmospheric Lasibaari Bar. Ther are 301 bedrooms and a fitness centre with sauna and massage.
