Lisbon, ‘City of the Navigators’, was once the heart of Europe’s maritime power and memories of this Golden Age are still clearly evident today. Our four-night tour will uncover the city’s glittering, powerful history hidden beneath its friendly façade. In addition to exploring the Portuguese capital, one of Europe’s liveliest cities, we shall also make excursions to the nearby towns of Sintra and Queluz. A performance of ‘Falstaff’ at Lisbon’s wonderful 18th century opera house, the Teatro Nacional De São Carlos, will be a highlight of this tour.
