Hotel overviewThere have been several luxury hotel openings in Venice in the last few years, but nothing quite compares to the Palladio. It is the newest property of Francesca Bortoletto Possati, owner of the Bauer hotels, and has a wonderful location and a remarkable sense of history. AccommodationDesigned by the Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, the building dates from 1500; it was ![]() ![]() All rooms are beautifully decorated with fine tapestries and frescoes and have interesting architectural details that reflect the building’s history. There is a restaurant with a terrace leading on to the garden and an impressive wellness spa which is due to open in Spring 2007. One of the great attractions of the Palladio is that you can enjoy the tranquillity of the hotel and its location yet Venice is just a stone’s throw away – a vaparetto stop is steps from the entrance and there is a private shuttle operating to and from the Bauer Il Palazzo, a journey of no more than five minutes.
