Opened in 2008, this is a beautiful 19th Century Moorish palazzo directly on the Grand Canal. It is the sister hotel of the Locanda Vivaldi and is owned by the Dazzo family who have overseen an intricate process that has restored some beautiful architectural features including an ornate staircase, stained glass windows and a former chapel decorated with mosaics and frescoes.

Accommodation

There are just 24 bedrooms and all are well furnished in Venetian style – the six junior suites have wonderful views of the Grand Canal (supplement £168 per room per night). Unusually for a Venetian hotel, there is a large garden terrace overlooking the water – this is the perfect place to take breakfast or to relax with a drink whilst life on the Grand Canal passes by. There is also a rooftop terrace with an outdoor Jacuzzi which can be reserved privately. The hotel is located opposite the Palazzo Grassi and close to the Accademia Bridge; the Ca’ Rezzonica vaparetto stop is next door. Complimentary bottle of prosecco in room on arrival.
