The Hotel Miramar is one of Kirker’s favourite city hotels and with over 2 acres of gardens and a large outdoor swimming pool, the hotel is perfect for a summer short break as it enjoys that rare commodity in Barcelona, namely space and tranquillity.

Accommodation

Originally built for the 1929 World Expo, the Miramar underwent a comprehensive restoration four year’s ago under the watchful eye of architect Óscar Tusquets Blanca and enjoys a unique location overlooking the city on Montjuic Hill just a short 5 minute taxi ride from the port and Ramblas.

All 75 bedrooms are stylishly decorated using contemporary furnishings with large bathrooms, each with a separate bath and shower. Most rooms have their own terrace, with views overlooking the gardens, the city or the sea. The spa and fitness centre is one of Barcelona’s finest and has a sauna, Turkish bath, treatment rooms and an indoor pool.
