Opened in 2002 and formerly an abandoned island with a rich and varied history, the San Clemente Palace is located in the Venetian lagoon with wonderful views of the city, Giudecca and the Lido.

Accommodation

The main building dates from the 17th Century when it was a thriving monastery but the beautiful church with its frescoed walls can be charted as far back as 1131. The imposing main building surrounds four large courtyards and has vast corridors decorated with silk wall coverings, marble and Murano glass chandeliers, four restaurants including Ca’ dei Frati with panoramic views and 205 spacious bedrooms furnished in a contemporary style.

There is also an elegant bar and a beauty centre with sauna, massage and a fitness room. The beautiful tree filled park has a large summer swimming pool, two tennis courts, a three hole golf course and plenty of space to relax and unwind. The island is 15 minutes from St. Mark’s Square from where the hotel operates a complimentary shuttle service.
