Recent events - What will the Kirker team do to help?If you have booked or are thinking of booking a Kirker holiday, we would like to reassure you about what we will do in the event of an incident such as the recent volcano eruption. If Air Traffic Controllers shut the airspace making it impossible for you to leave the UK on the flight we have confirmed to you - we are here to help you adjust your departure time, or postpone your holiday at no extra cost to a new date (subject to availability of a similar category room and season). If we cannot find a new date that is agreeable to you, we will provide you with a full refund or hold the monies for you until you are able to provide us with an alternative date. If you are already abroad when the incident occurs and you are unable to return home on the flight we have booked for you, we will do our utmost to find a suitable alternative date or mode of transport to help you to return to the UK as quickly as possible. (As has been widely reported, under EU regulations EU airlines are responsible for covering the cost of 'accommodation and reasonable expenses' if you have been 'denied boarding' on a flight.) As ever, whenever anything unexpected happens on a Kirker holiday, the Kirker Team is here to help you either during normal office hours, or on our 24 hour contact number (details of which are provided with your travel documentation). We will certainly continue to use Kirker and I repeat our gratitude to you for being so helpful when we were in Athens. Thanks to your excellent and determined organisation, we all arrived at St. Pancras at 10.45pm on Wednesday quite contented. the mini-bus was surprisingly comfortable and the driver very skilled - as well as very fast! Beaune was a charming place to stay overnight and we all enjoyed half a day in Paris.
All in all the whole journey was without fault and Kirker definitely have eight clients determined never to travel with any other company. Just a quick note to thank you and Kirker Holidays for you exceptional service while my family was stranded in Rome due to the volcanic ash. The Kirker representatives were extremely helpful in changing our flights, extending our hotel reservations, and booking us on a private coach to return to London. The coach ride was more comfortable than we could have expected, and the Kirker representatives on board were lovely.
Even before the volcanic ash situation developed, we were very pleased with our Kirker holiday in Italy. Once the ash debacle began, Kirker truly came through to show why it is a premier travel agency.
