Victoria Falls

Overview

Victoria Falls is, perhaps, the World’s most stunning natural wonder and a visit would make the perfect end to your African experience. Originally christened Mosi oa Tunya – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ – the magnificent Falls carry up to five million cubic metres of water over the mile long gorge every single minute. Whilst staying at the Falls, a trip over the mile long ravine and bridge will give you the opportunity to feel, hear and taste what David Livingstone first experienced in 1865. Sunset cruises along the upper Zambezi allow you to watch the elephants drink and play while you sip a refreshing gin and tonic. Mini game drives in the nearby Mosi oa Tunya National Park can be arranged, alternatively, a full day trip to Northern Botswana is also an option. For those who thrive on adrenalin, dramatic helicopter trips can also be pre-arranged. You can fly to Victoria Falls airport in Zimbabwe from Johannesburg and to Livingstone airport in Zambia from Cape Town and Kruger International. Alternatively, you can travel by Rovos Rail and arrive in real style.
