Berlin’s Gemäldegalerie hosts a rare exhibition on late Gothic art in the spring, with around 130 objects – including outstanding loans and key works from the collection of the Berlin State Museums. This period, inspired by developments in the Netherlands from the 1430s onwards, brought artistic depictions into the realms of expression, realism, and, with advances in printing techniques, mass distribution.
