Schubertiade Music Festival - Schwarzenberg

The Schubertiade is considered by many to be the most important chamber music festival in the world, with an astonishing number of distinguished musicians gathering in this beautiful setting. The Festival takes place throughout the summer in both Hohenems, where it began in 1976, and Schwarzenberg where a beautiful concert hall was built in the alpine meadows to accommodate a steadily increasing audience. In order to make the most of the surroundings, we have designed different itineraries for each departure. For details of the Hohenems holiday departing 1 October 2019 please click here.

For the Schwarzenberg concerts in August, we stay in the 4 star Gasthof Krone in the delightful village of Hittisau. The owners have been welcoming Kirker clients for more than a decade. A drive through the Vorarlberg Mountains, a visit to the Angelika Kauffman Museum and wine and cheese tasting are included. A number of easy walks start right in front of the hotel. A stop to visit the superb Oskar Reinhart art collection in Winterthur is also included.
