Astoria

St. Petersburg 3 nights low season from £1,169 per person
Deluxe

Lovingly restored by Rocco Forte Hotels, the Astoria has been at the centre of the City’s history since it opened in 1912. Legend has it that Hitler sent out invitations to a celebratory party in the hotel’s Winter Garden in anticipation of his capture of St. Petersburg and needless to say, the party never took place.

With wonderful views of St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the Mariinsky Palace, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the shopping on the Nevsky Prospect and the Hermitage Museum. The 169 comfortable bedrooms are furnished in the contemporary style that is synonymous with Rocco Forte Hotels. The 'Cafe Astoria' restaurant serves traditional Russian and French cuisine and there is also a vodka and caviar bar. The Astoria also has a fitness centre and a beauty spa. Supplement for deluxe room: £48 per room, per night. Supplement for superior deluxe room with view of St. Isaac’s Cathedral from £86 per room, per night.

3 night low season price from £1,169 per person, 3 night high season price from £1,348 per person

Special Offer

1 December – 30 April, 1 November – 29 December: 4 nights for the price of 3, saving up to £160.

Kirker Holidays includes the visa in all holidays to Russia and experts seamlessly handle each application on your behalf, with a fast-track service available for short-notice breaks. Russia also need not be extravagant – especially…

Moscow - Vladimir and St. Petersburg, An Ex-Soviet Odyssey...

By Kathryn Irons, 18 November 2016

Domodedovo Airport, on a grey and slightly damp November afternoon…….after waiting to see if any bags would fall down the unexplained 1 ft gap in the luggage reclaim belt, it was off to the capital where the shadow of Lenin still looms.  Moscow is a sprawling metropolis, with the main points of interest unsurprisingly centred round the Kremlin and Red Square. Once the stage of…

Russia, Part I - St Petersburg

By Ben Williams, 18 November 2016

I had long wanted to visit St Petersburg, to walk among the palaces and tie the history of the Romanovs to the Bolshevik revolution and the Cold War to the modern day economic powerhouse. I could not have prepared myself however for the scale and elegance of the historic centre of St Petersburg and the power and beauty of Moscow. St Petersburg’s sapling was the first ‘dacha’ or…

Discovering the Palaces, Cathedrals & Galleries of St Petersburg

By Charlotte Phillips, 10 October 2016

Russia’s second city and cultural capital, St Petersburg, should be towards the top of the wish list for any discerning traveller. I have long wanted to visit myself and was not disappointed by my trip there in late September, with a slight chill in the air as the leaves turned red and gold. Around every corner there seemed to be another beautiful sight to discover and if I were to travel back…

It was all wonderful. We had an upgrade at the hotel as you had mentioned to them that it was our silver wedding anniversary. Thank you for the champagne. It was all such a treat!
