Grand Hotel et Milan

Milan 3 nights low season from £1,098 per person
Superior

One of the city’s finest historic residences, Grand Hotel et de Milan is housed in a 19th century mansion and has been owned by the Bertazzoni family for three generations. Giuseppe Verdi lived here for many years and Maria Callas was another celebrated guest.

The central location makes this a perfect base to explore the heart of the city – the Quadrilatero d’Oro, or Fashion District is opposite and La Scala and the Duomo are a few minutes’ walk away, as is the Brera artistic quarter. Elegantly furnished with Italian marble, original parquet floors and numerous antiques from the family’s collection, there are 73 bedrooms decorated in Liberty, Art Deco or Neo-Classical style. The cosy Don Carlos restaurant has paintings and sketches from La Scala Theatre Museum and serves Mediterranean cuisine; ‘Gerry’s Bar’ is a popular after theatre venue.

3 night low season price from £1,098 per person, 3 night high season price from £1,148 per person
