Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa

Deluxe

Re-opened in 2015 after extensive renovations, Le Touessrok is once again among the best beach hotels in Mauritius. The hotel’s renowned charm and level of luxury have been retained while contemporary Asian touches, for which the Shangri-La brand is known, have been added discreetly throughout the resort.

The 200 spacious rooms and suites are all on the beachfront with furniture made from local materials and most have a private terrace.  Just off shore from the hotel’s beach, the exclusive Mangenie Island provides the quintessential desert island experience as well as the comfort of a beach bar with butler service, while the Ile aux Cerfs has the popular 18-hole golf course designed by Bernhard Langer. A full range of water sports are included in the hotel rates with scuba diving among many optional extras in the protected area of the marine reserve. Dining is a key part of the Touessrok experience; ‘Safran’ restaurant has traditional Mauritian cuisine and setting with a strong Indian influence introduced by acclaimed chef Ramesh Bundi; ‘Kushi’ has a range of Japanese cuisine; ‘Le Bazar’ is a less formal restaurant with Szechuan Chinese leanings; ‘Republik’ offers a full grill menu during the day and fashionable beach bar in the evening. The Chi spa offers a full range of Chinese and Ayurvedic treatments available inside or on the beach.
