‘Albergo Diffuso’, meaning a scattered or spread-out hotel, refers to an increasingly popular form of accommodation whereby guests stay in a series of apartments dotted throughout a characterful town, and experience living in close contact with residents rather than tourists. Apartments have been converted from historic, often abandoned buildings and this has revived many historic villages and small towns throughout the country. The 14 renovated, air-conditioned, studio apartments of Sotto Le Cummerse are situated in the charming alleys of Locorotondo, amongst the simple cafés and craftsmen’s workshops and offer guests a unique opportunity to become immersed in the traditions of the town and the idiosyncrasies of the locals. Each apartment (some sleeping up to four guests) has a kitchenette and is spacious and comfortable and furnished in typical Puglian style. Breakfast is included each morning and is served in the new breakfast room within the town where you will also find ample free parking.
