We were delighted to find out that the Vanhaecke family were now running the Van Cleef as we know through experience that they are excellent hoteliers. Their latest, which has the feeling of a private residence, is a grand Italianate mansion in the heart of Bruges directly on the St. Annarei canal and six minutes’ walk from Burg Square. This grand, spacious building has been decorated by Pascale Vanhaecke-Marcantuoni in a luxurious style which seamlessly combines modern, vintage and antique furnishings. The rooms are either located in the main mansion building or in the new wing; all are furnished in a contemporary style using Missoni fabrics and some have views to the canal. A traditional afternoon tea is served in the Green room or on the hotel’s stunning terrace right on the canal.
