Dr Giovanni Di Pasquale is the Associate Scientific Director at the Galileo Museum, Institute and Museum for the History of Science in Florence.
Dr Giovanni Di Pasquale is the Associate Scientific Director at the Galileo Museum, Institute and Museum for the History of Science in Florence. After graduating with honours in Classics from the University of Florence, he began conducting studies and research at the Galileo Museum in 1993, focusing on the history of science and technology between Antiquity and the Middle Ages. As a result of his studies and research, and in cooperation with some of the most important Italian archaeological museums, he has curated many international travelling exhibitions focussed on science and technology in ancient civilisations, Archimedes, Pompeii and many other topics besides. He has authored over 70 publications, including monographs, edited books and articles in scientific journals, including on the topic of science in antiquity and throughout the Middle Ages. Giovanni will deliver a talk titled “Through the eyes of Galileo” on the evening of day 3.
