Oliver Condy has been a classical music journalist for over 25 years, including 17 as editor of BBC Music Magazine from 2004. He is an experienced broadcaster, and has appeared on BBC Radio and TV on a variety of programmes, including Record Review, Today, In Tune, Front Row and the BBC Proms.
He has written for a wide range of record labels and publications, and his book on the power of music to enhance and assuage personal emotions, Symphonies for the Soul, was published by Octopus in 2021. He now works for Apple Music.
As an organist, Oliver studied in Paris with Susan Landale and was tutored for his Performance MA by the great Bach scholar Peter Williams. He has given recitals in Denmark, France, Germany, Mallorca and the UK, which he toured with the Brussels Philharmonic in 2014 as the soloist in Saint-Saëns’ “Organ” Symphony.
Oliver is a lifelong choral singer, and has sung tenor with a number of leading choirs, including London’s Coro and Bristol’s Exultate Singers.
