Pitti Palace

Florence, Italy
Kirker Holidays

l Palazzo Pitti, located on the south side of the River Arno, a five-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, was the house of the Medici family. It is now the home of the Palatine Gallery (works by Rubens, Velasquez, Raphael and Titian), the Royal Apartments, the Gallery of Modern (19th & 20th century) Art and the Porcelain Museum. Although the exterior of the Palazzo is rather stern, the breath-taking Palatine Gallery and magnificently opulent Royal Apartments inside are sumptuously decorated.

Tickets for the Palatine Gallery include entrance to the Royal Apartments and costume gallery. Separate tickets are required for the Museum of Modern Art and the grand (and hilly) Boboli Gardens, the latter including entrance to the Porcelain Museum. Buy all tickets at the ticket office to the right of the main entrance before entering.

Open 08:15 – 18:30. Closed Mondays.
