Musée Granet

Aix-en-Provence is celebrating its most famous resident in 2025, Paul Cezanne, with the reopening of the artist’s home and studio after undergoing refurbishment, accompanied by a major retrospective in the town’s Musée Granet. Cezanne’s home in Aix, Jas de Bouffan, was a veritable artistic laboratory, and this exhibition at the Granet will showcase 100 pieces illustrating just how much the house and his hometown influenced his art, and presents Cézanne’s favourite themes: Provençal landscapes, self-portraits, the famous bathers and still lifes in oil and watercolour. As well as his masterpieces, there will also be a selection of his drawings on display, as the exhibition brings to light elements of Cézanne’s private life and how that wove its way into his work. Visitors can also enjoy the Jas de Bouffan mansion itself, as well as his Les Lauves studio, which has been preserved as it was when Cézanne was at work in his later years.
