Located in the 1730 Hotel Biron and its seven acre romantic gardens, the Rodin Museum exhibits the famous sculptor’s entire collection. Rodin donated his works to the French state in 1908 on the proviso that it dedicated the 18th century mansion to displaying them. Tucked behind the Invalides and a 20-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, this beautiful building is where the artist lived and worked while in Paris.

Thirty bronzes are scattered throughout the rose-filled sculpture gardens, including his key masterpieces – The Thinker, The Burghers of Calais, Balzac and The Gates of Hell; an intricate bronze group work depicting a scene from Dante’s Inferno.

The renovated interior space – with its vast bay windows flooding the eighteen rooms with light – follows the chronological order of Rodin’s life. Sculptural highlights include the artist’s marble monument to love, The Kiss, andthe world’s largest collection of works by Rodin’s protégé and muse, Camille Claudel.

Additionally, the ‘Rodin at the Hôtel Biron’ room showcases his workroom as it was when he lived there, incorporating an eclectic collection of sculptures and original furniture, and be sure not to miss the paintings from his personal collection on the first floor, including those of Van Gogh and Monet.

The two-day Paris Museum Pass, provided to all Kirker clients visiting Paris, includes complimentary entrance to the Rodin Museum (in addition to over 50 other museums, monuments and galleries).

Open 10:00-18:30 with last entry 45 minutes prior to closing. Closed on Mondays, New Year’s Day, 1st May and Christmas Day. Early closing on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 16:45.

The nearest metro stops are Varenne (line 13) right next door to the museum, Invalides (line 8 or 13) 10 minutes away on foot, or RER Invalides (line C) 10 minutes south.
