Groeningemuseum

Bruges, Belgium
Kirker Holidays

Groeningemuseum is a museum in Bruges, built on the charming mediaeval site of Eekhout Abbey. Conveniently located in the centre of the city, the museum houses a small but high-quality selection of European art. The collection spans six centuries, covering periods from the Flemish primitives, to neo-classicism, to 20th century modern art.

Groeningemuseum is set across just 7 rooms and can be completed within 1-2 hours. Despite its size, it houses some prominent works of art from European history, including works by Flemish, Renaissance and Baroque masters, neo-classical and Flemish expressionist paintings. Then has a smaller selection of 20th century post-war paintings.
