For the first time, this exhibition will bring together the three paintings representing Saint Francis standing in his tomb, painted by Francisco de Zurbarán, held respectively in Lyon, Barcelona and Boston. The first part of the exhibition will explore the inspiration for this triptych alongide works by Zurbarán’s contemporaries, while the second focuses on the lasting influence of these iconic works through 19th to 21st century paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and haute couture.
