Overview

The Salzkammergut is Austria’s beautiful ‘Lake District’, a relaxing world of magnificent scenery situated less than an hour from Salzburg. Using the lake steamers or walking and exploring are a joy on clearly marked trails to delightful ‘jausen station’ mountain huts that offer light meals and breathtaking views. We feature two of the most famous lakes, the beautiful Fuschlsee and the world renowned Wolfgangsee where the historic railway can take you to the top of Schafberg mountain.
