Ghent

Overview

Ghent is one of the major Flemish art cities and its relatively small size makes it a joy to discover on foot. It is a city whose mercantile past can be enjoyed in the majestic town houses which line the cobbled streets. St. Bavo's Cathedral houses the jewel in the crown of Ghent's artistic treasures – The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the Van Eyck brothers and is universally regarded as the pinnacle of Flemish Art.
