Munich

City

Overview

This exquisite city is, without question, one of the most elegant and underrated in Europe. Grand avenues and squares, imposing public buildings and a kaleidoscope of Baroque, Rococo, Second Empire influenced, jugendstil (Art Nouveau) and Art Deco architecture make it one of the most beautiful of all cities. And what a superb setting! On a clear day the mighty snow-capped peaks of the Alps can be seen on the horizon. Munich is a thriving centre for art and culture with fine museums and galleries plus a wonderful opera house (we would be delighted to book tickets for you). The legendary Bavarian hospitality can be enjoyed in one of the many excellent restaurants and beer halls or at the wonderful Christmas market that takes place in front of the Gothic town hall. Why not combine a stay in Munich with a visit to Salzburg, only one and a half hours away by train?
