Lucca

City

Overview

Virtually traffic-free and with a convivial atmosphere, Lucca was the birthplace of Giacomo Puccini and is one of the most charming of all the smaller cities in Italy. Its historic quarter is still encircled by Renaissance city walls with the elegant Piazza San Michele at its heart. You will find tempting shops, mediaeval churches, museums, galleries and sprawling antiques markets.
