An archipelago stretching off the northwest coast of Norway, the Lofoten Islands are famous for their spectacular natural beauty, with mountain peaks of over 1,000 metres high and dramatic fjords. Although north of the Artic Circle, the climate here can be relatively mild, making this an excellent destination from which to see the Northern Lights. During the spring and summer, visitors will see the islands' great variety of wildlife including otters and sea eagles.
