Bodrum

City

Overview

The whitewashed villas, abundant bougainvillea and narrow streets ensure Bodrum retains its own unique charm. The Castle of St. Peter was built in 1402 and it is one of the world’s best preserved monuments; today it houses the fascinating Museum of Underwater Archaeology. On the east side of the town you will find a lively atmosphere. In contrast, the other half, centred around the new marina, is chic and rapidly gaining a reputation as the Monte Carlo of the Aegean. There are regular flights from Istanbul to Bodrum so it works very well as part of a twin-centre holiday.
