Tiberias & The Sea of Galilee
Tiberias overlooks the southern end of the Sea of Galilee and is an excellent base from which to explore the local area. It is well known as a spa resort but many visitors prefer taking one of the atmospheric boat trips to Capernaeum. Monuments and archaeological remains attesting to many well known aspects of Jesus' time can be found in other towns and villages around the sea.
