The Overberg
This magnificent coastline stretches from the lagoons at Kleinmond, past the craggy coastline of Hermanus to the fishing village of Arniston. From July to November, southern right whales and humpbacks converge on the coastal waters to mate and calve in what is one of the world’s great natural exhibitions. The indigenous flora forms a spectacular tapestry of wild flowers that make the fynbos landscape world famous. Hermanus is located 75 miles from Cape Town, and the area would make an excellent combination with a city centre hotel, or as part of a tailormade itinerary including the Garden Route and the game reserves of the Eastern Cape.
