Paternoster
A once sleepy fishing village, Paternoster has become one of the favourite weekend getaways for Capetonians. Food lovers are flocking to the several excellent family-run restaurants lining the sandy beaches. The Cape Columbine Lighthouse rests on a windswept coastline on a massive rocky outcrop from where you can view dolphins and whales in spring. In the same season a visit to the West Coast National Park is highly recommended to view the colourful carpet of wild flowers. Paternoster makes an excellent stop on the way north to the Cederbergs or as a combination with the Winelands.
Cedarberg Mountains
For a true wilderness experience, we can highly recommend a visit to the Cederberg Mountains, a mass of red sandstone that has been weathered and eroded over the centuries to form a dramatic, craggy skyline. The land is home to the country’s best reserved rock art sites as well as a rich variety of flora and fauna. The Cederbergs are a three hour drive north from Cape Town and we can provide private transfers if you prefer not to hire a car.
