Sidi Bou Said
Twenty kilometres north of Tunis is the small town of Sidi Bou Said, perched on a cliffside with dramatic views over the Mediterranean. Completely painted in a distinctive blue and white colour scheme, with flowers tumbling from windows and doorways, it is one of the prettiest towns in the Mediterranean and acquired a reputation as a haven for artists including Paul Klee who were attracted by the clear light and bright colours.
