Washington DC

City

Overview

The capital is dominated by the corridors of power of the Capitol Building and the White House, while iconic monuments honour the memories of past presidents. Vast museums on and around the Mall, many funded by the Smithsonian Institute, include the Natural History Museum and National Air and Space Museum. The National Gallery of Art gives a good summary from Europe and America’s recent past while The Kreeger is an impressive private collection of Impressionist paintings. The Kennedy Centre hosts the National Opera and National Symphony Orchestra, while the recently restored 1920s Warner Theatre is as much of a spectacle in its own rights as the shows on its stage. The new high speed Acela train line connects Philadelphia in less than two hours and New York in three hours. We will be happy to create a tailor-made itinerary combining these diverse cities.
