This alternative itinerary begins in Marrakech with a stay at the charming and authentic Riad Kniza, a delightful riad with just 11 bedrooms and a very good restaurant in the heart of the medina. You will then cross the majestic Atlas Mountains to Taroudant, via the famous Tizi-n-Test mountain pass which offers spectacular views over the countryside. Arriving in the distinctive red-walled city of Taroudant, which dates from the 11th century, you will stay at the comfortable hotel Dar Zitoune, a charming boutique property just outside the city, which has extensive gardens filled with fruit trees, a large swimming pool, and 14 bungalow-style rooms – as well as a good restaurant and spa with a Moroccan hammam.
