This summer, New York offers a uniquely tantalising confluence of events in the ballet world: a landmark exhibition devoted to the Ballets Russes, and two important productions by The American Ballet Theatre. Our new tour will combine a visit to the major exhibition ‘Crafting the Ballets Russes’ at The Morgan Library, which follows the arrival of Serge Diaghilev’s troupe of dancers in Paris in 1909, with two performances by The American Ballet Theatre. The company’s artistic director, Susan Jaffe, danced with ABT for 22 seasons, and their extended annual seasons in New York see the company perform to an audience of New Yorkers and ballet lovers from all over the world. Our itinerary will also include visits to New York’s leading art collections including MoMA and The Whitney.
