Exhibition
Mauritshuis
12 February – 7 June 2026
Carel Fabritius, The Goldfinch 1654, Mauritshuis Den Haag
BIRDS at the Mauritshuis is curated by Carel Fabritius’ 1645 painting The Goldfinch (pictured) and British art historian Simon Schama. The exhibition examines humans’ relationship with birds and encourages us to consider the role these animals occupy, simultaneously representing freedom, pets, food, and even trophies. It will feature historical and contemporary art, with works by artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Picasso and Matisse.
We would be delighted to arrange a tailor-made short break to include entrance tickets for the exhibition, see our suggested package below.
