This autumn the Grand Palais will dedicate their exhibition space to Paul Cézanne and his artistic legacy, displaying not only his works, but also pieces from many artists who were inspired by him. These include Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso and Mondrian, as well as more contemporary artists such as Peter Doig, exemplifying Cézanne’s lasting influence. This exhibition’s story begins in the late 1880s, when artists began discovering Cézanne’s works in Père Tanguy’s shop in Paris, subsequently gaining him more widespread recognition.
