Set to occupy all of the Fondation’s exhibition spaces, this David Hockney retrospective will be the largest ever displayed, spanning the artist’s prolific career from 1960’s Bradford to iPad pieces that are, even now, yet to be completed. His most famous paintings such as A Bigger Splash will feature, as well as some works that have never been shown in public before. Other highlights will include his opera stage sets, brought to life in an immersive space, as well as his great collection of Normandy paintings. The Fondation is also well worth a visit in itself, a ‘transparent cloud’ in the verdant surroundings of the Bois de Boulogne, designed by legendary architect, Frank Gehry.
