Rail Journey
The most luxurious train in Spain, El Transcantabrico is a historic train hotel formed of restored vintage carriages which have been sensitively modernised to create elegant lounges with panoramic windows, an award-winning on-board restaurant, and just 14 comfortable suites with double or twin beds, private shower room and living area. The train crosses the north of Spain, from Santiago de Compostela to San Sebastian and vice versa, in a seven night itinerary which includes the cities of Bilbao, Santander and Oviedo, the neolithic cave paintings at Altamira, and the spectacular mountains of the Picos de Europa.
Trains run on set departures between April and October.
