Cultural Tours & Musical Holidays
tbc nights from £tbc per person
This garden-themed holiday explores two of Morocco’s most fascinating historic cities, Tangier and Fez, and the richly varied landscapes which surround them. Beginning in Tangier, where Africa meets Europe, we visit gardens and viewpoints overlooking both the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, while discovering a city whose once raffish reputation as a haven for spies, pop stars and writers of the Beat Generation has given way to a more polished sophistication, fostered by an international community of designers, artists and connoisseurs. We continue to Fez, Morocco’s capital until the establishment of the French Protectorate in 1912, where a deep sense of nobility and tradition endures within the ancient walls of the medina, and riad gardens still follow the classical principles of Islamic design. Beyond the city, our journey also takes us to the vineyards of Meknes and to the evocative Roman remains at Volubilis, offering a rewarding combination of gardens, architecture, history and Moroccan culture.
