Exhibition
Musee de l'Orangerie
25 March 2026 to 20 July 2026
The Musée de l’Orangerie will present a Rousseau retrospective through an historic collaboration with the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia.
‘Henri Rousseau, A Painter’s Ambition’ looks back on his career across the late 19th and early 20th century, his approach to painting, and his professional ambitions through his connections to the art market. After moving to Paris at the age of 49 to devote himself entirely to painting, Rousseau used a range of genres and techniques to make a name for himself on the Parisian art scene, and this exhibition aims to study his artistic career in depth.
We would be delighted to arrange a tailor-made short break to include entrance tickets for the exhibition, see our suggested package below.
