Return Eurostar to Brussels
Exhibition
Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp
15 November 2025 - 22 February 2026
In 1938, René Magritte gave a lecture at the KMSKA on his vision of reality, the origins and development of his art, as well as the history of the Surrealist movement in Belgium. Under the title 'La ligne de vie' (The Life Line), this lecture was perhaps the most important Magritte ever gave on his work.
In this exhibition, "Magritte. La ligne de vie", you will discover a selection of works that were also highlighted during his lecture, and begin to learn more about Magritte’s desire to paint ideas after his initial experiments with abstraction. The exhibition also delves deeper into Magritte as a connecting figure between Surrealism in Antwerp and Brussels. Magritte’s work will be shown alongside his contemporaries including Surrealist poet Marcel Mariën and photographer Léo Dohmen.
We would be delighted to arrange a tailor-made short break to include entrance tickets for the exhibition, see our suggested package below.
