Exhibition
Grand Palais
24 March 2026 - 26 July 2026
A historic retrospective at the Grand Palais will exhibit over 300 works from Matisse’s later years in ‘Matisse, 1941-1954'.
At nearly 80 years old, Matisse reinvented himself through the medium of the cut-out gouache, which has become some of his most recognisable work. This exhibition however sets out to prove that painting remained at the heart of the artist’s approach, with major ensembles on display such as La Gerbe et des Acanthes, as well as the highlight of the exhibition: Matisse’s huge gouache cut-out figures so rarely presented together, including La Tristesse du Roi.
We would be delighted to arrange a tailor-made short break to include entrance tickets for the exhibition, see our suggested package below.
