6 February to 25 May 2026
Caravaggio, Narcissus, ca. 1597–1598, Palazzo Barberini, Rome
Ovid’s monumental poem Metamorphoses was written 2,000 years ago and describes a mythological world of transformations – of gods and humans into animals, plants and stone. This show highlights the enduring impact of Ovid’s work for artists throughout time, with over 80 masterpieces by artists such as Titian, Correggio, Cellini, Caravaggio, Rubens, Rodin, Brancusi and Bourgeois. Each of them rivalled one of antiquity’s greatest poets in imagination and artistic vision.
We would be delighted to arrange a tailor-made short break to include entrance tickets for the exhibition, see our suggested package below.
