Our new midsummer holiday to Oslo includes spectacular modern architecture, exceptional art collections and two performances at the striking modern Opera House, magnificently sited looking over Oslofjord. In the last five years, Oslo has emerged as one of Europe's most culturally exciting capitals, and in addition to the operas, we will visit the remarkable waterfront building opened in 2022, the Nobel Peace Centre and museum dedicated to two of Norway's most celebrated cultural figures: the house museum devoted to playwright Henrik Ibsen, which reopened after renovations in 2023, and the imposing monolith of a museum dedicated to Edward Munch, which opened in 2021.
