The elegant Derbyshire spa town of Buxton in the heart of the Peak District is home to Frank Matcham's stunning opera house, which hosts the wonderful International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival. During our stay, we shall attend five productions as well as a private talk given by the Festival’s trustee, Bernard Lockett, who has written several books on the subject, and broadcast on BBC Radio and TV. We will also have time to explore Buxton itself and visit some of Derbyshire’s spectacular stately homes.
