The Glacier Express

One of Switzerland’s most iconic rail journeys, the Glacier Express crosses the Alps from St. Moritz to Zermatt in just under eight hours, traversing 291 bridges, passing through 91 tunnels and climbing to 2,033 metres over the Oberalp Pass. The curved, towering Landwasser viaduct is just one of the impressive viaducts you will cross as well as two helical and three spiral tunnels on a unique journey which also includes the awe-inspiring Rhine Gorge, also known as the ‘Swiss Grand Canyon’. Clear views are ensured by the panoramic windows and a three-course meal is served at your seat; for those who wish to travel in the ultimate comfort, Excellence Class is available offering luxurious seating, a 5-course regional menu and exclusive access to the Glacier Bar.
