Our new exclusive Kirker Music Festival brings this award-winning British vocal consort to the South Downs for a series of very special private concerts at the Old Methodist Church in Alfriston. Directed by Owain Park, The Gesualdo Six will perform three intimate concerts which will showcase an expansive repertoire from the British Isles, including music by Byrd, Purcell, Holst, Vaughan-Williams, Britten and Macmillan. Staying at the newly renovated hotel The Alfriston, there will also be three private dinners with the musicians, several interviews and an excursion to nearby Lewes followed by a wine-tasting at Rathfinny estate.
The Alfriston Hotel
The Alfriston, formerly known as Deans Place and comprising of 38 individually-designed rooms, overlooks the South Downs and the River Cuckmere. It has had a comprehensive refurbishment in recent months, with the newly built spa offering treatment rooms, sauna and an outdoor heated pool. The hotel is located a few minutes' walk from the heart of the mediaeval village of Alfriston, with its boutique shops, charming cafés and traditional pubs. It is the perfect location for those who enjoy walking, whilst others may wish to make use of the hotel’s facilities or wander into the village.

The Gesualdo Six
The Gesualdo Six is an award-winning British vocal ensemble comprising some of the UK’s finest consort singers, directed by Owain Park. Praised for their imaginative programming and impeccable blend, the group formed in 2014 for a performance of Gesualdo’s Tenebrae Responsories in Cambridge and have gone on to perform at numerous major festivals around the world.
