Tailor-made Holidays
7 night price from £2,795 per person
A seven-night tour of Romania, which takes you through Wallachia and the Carpathian Mountains, ending in Bucharest, including UNESCOlisted fortified churches, castles and estates, and wildlife sanctuaries.
Flying to Bucharest, your private driver-guide will whisk you to the gateway of Transylvania, Sinaia. Spending one night at the Caraiman, you will take in Peles Castle and the 17th Sinaia Monastery, home to the earliest Romanian translation of the Bible. Continue through the mountains to Brasov, an ancient town with Romanian, Saxon, Germanic, and Hungarian influences, most famous for nearby Bran Castle, the residence of Vlad the Impaler, and the 14th Century Biserica Neagra (Black Church). After two nights in Brasov, spend one night at the residence of King Charles III’s personal friends, the Counts Kalnoky, at their private estate in Miclosoara, where you will enjoy the pristine ecology of the region. Finally, return to Bucharest where you will spend three nights at the Marmorosch, touring the Old Town, The Palace of Parliament, and the museums.
